23 August 2016 - Business mobility and fleet specialist, Alphabet today announced a double win at this year’s BusinessCar Techies Awards. The new app for company car drivers and mobility users, AlphaGuide, won in the ‘Best App’ category while the Virtual Handover initiative was recognised with the prestigious ‘Editor’s Choice’ award.
Using mobile communications, online video and smartphone technology to improve the driver experience and enable alternative modes of mobility for employees, these two industry innovations are prime examples of how this can also benefit an organisation through greater operational efficiencies and duty of care for their fleet.
The AlphaGuide app, which was relaunched in January 2016, and the new Virtual Handover service introduced earlier this year were designed with the ethos of providing relevant, up-to-date information at the fingertips of drivers and mobility users. This helps fleet decision makers empower their employees with the tools to make the right decisions for their own mobility or better understand the technology and safety features in their new company car.
Debbie Wood, News & Features Editor of BusinessCar, commented: “The Techies are designed to reward companies that harness technology to make life easier, cheaper, safer or just more efficient for fleet operators. Alphabet has achieved this aim not once but twice this year, with its Virtual Handover and AlphaGuide app. These clever new innovations make a genuine difference to a fleet manager’s day-to-day operations, while providing drivers with access to key information quickly and in a place convenient for them, exemplifying the kind of smart and useful thinking that wins BusinessCar Techies.”
Mark Gibson, Head of Marketing & Business Development at Alphabet, commented: “We are delighted to receive double recognition at this year’s BusinessCar Techies Awards, both for our unique Virtual Handover service and our new AlphaGuide app. We firmly believe that these innovations illustrate the direction for the fleet and mobility industry in providing improved experience and services for drivers or mobility users, wherever they are and whenever they need it. It continues our commitment to provide fleet managers with the tools to help their employees make the right decisions and stay on the move safely and efficiently.”
